Program Information:
Two Miniatures explores rhetorical repetitions and the representation of a shifting psychological space (or lack thereof) in a musical setting. Although set within a standard chromatic pitch language, the piece was written such that the pitches would change very slightly and subtly through each rhetorical repetition by means of manipulating the phrase that precedes it.
